Antioch, CA  94509

AUSD offers Home and Hospital instruction to students who have a medical certification from their doctor that they are temporarily disabled or non ambulatory, which will make their regular classroom attendance impossible or inadvisable for four (4) weeks or longer.

If it appears that a student may have a lengthy illness, injury or if the parent says the student will be having surgery, please refer the parent to the Home and Hospital Office housed in the Prospects building.  If the surgery is done in any hospital outside of Antioch, the student isn't eligible for home teaching until he/she returns home.  If the student is in the hospital in another school district, they are eligible for services from that district.

The Home Hospital Office may receive a positive certification by a physician with the request.  At that time, a home teacher will be requested.  Until a teacher accepts the position, the home school/teacher will continue to provide the assignments.  A home teacher will be provided within 10 school days.  Refer to Board Policy 6750 for additional information.
